Lorain fashion designer Jevon Terance is facing a busy All-Star Weekend.

The 71st edition of the NBA All-Star Game will take place Feb. 20 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in downtown Cleveland.

The All-Star Experience is a weekend long, immersive experience curated explicitly for the community.

Terance, a world-renowned fashion designer is participating Feb. 18 in the first Gloria James House of Glo Fashion Show.

The House of Glo, a fashion presentation produced by Cleveland native Alaina Holloway-Carpenter, will kick off the NBA All-Star 2022 weekend.

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m., Feb. 18, at the State Theatre at Playhouse Square.

Terance said he took a chance and reached out to event representatives.

“I actually saw the event posted on Instagram and that there were no local designers featured,” he said. “I wanted to represent, so I had to really push, take a leap of faith and contact them.”

Terance said he is very excited for the opportunity.

“I really love what Gloria is doing,” he said. “She’s donating all the proceeds and it’s a good thing for the city of Cleveland and even the state overall.”

All proceeds from The All-Star Experience will support nonprofit organizations, including The Village, Central State University and #FosterCare.

The designer also is styling numerous celebrities and public figures for the star-packed weekend.

“I’m dressing people for the All-Star game and events throughout the weekend,” Terance said. “We’re really pushing the brand and making sure we’re being seen.”

He said he’s looking forward to the further expansion of his brand.

“We’ve had some really big projects during the last two years, so I’m excited about what’s coming out and what I’ve been working on,” Terance said. “I’m just putting myself out there and going for every opportunity that I can.”

He said he is preparing for his 15th anniversary collection.

“Right now, I’m working on my collection for year 15,” Terance said. “We have a lot of fun tricks up our sleeve; I always love doing events here in Lorain, so we will have some mixers and cool presentation-style events coming up.”
