I already wrote recently about my favourite skincare products from 2022. In this post, I want to talk about my favourite makeup products of the year. I am going to write a separate post about my favourite eyeshadow palettes, so I will go now through the products I used more or impressed me more during this year. I am not going to follow any particular order or include a product for each category.
Biobalance Magic Touch favourite makeup
The Biobalance 3-in-1 Magic Touch Foundation has been my main discovery this year. I got in a PR package from Amirose. It is a multi-function product that you can use as a foundation, primer and concealer. The “magic” touch is that the product shade adapts to any skin colour.
Effectively, the product adapted really well to my skin tone. I thought it was fine for me because the product shade was similar to my skin tone (Fitzpatrick IV). However, I tried it on my mum’s skin, which is a fair skin tone, and the product was also adapted.
This product has good coverage (medium to high, buildable), leaves my skin hydrated and lasts all day without patching or creasing.
Essence Duo-chrome Liquid Eyeshadows
These duo-chrome liquid eyeshadows are another makeup discovery I made this year. They are available in 5 shades and I have all of them. These are the liquid eyeshadows I used more during this year.
The duo-chrome effect is amazing for all the shades, but mainly the shades 02 and 05 are impressive. When I wear them, people think I am wearing a high-end brand product.
They are very easy to apply without the use of glitter glue. Once they are set on the lid, they will not move, fade or crease during the day. They are hyper affordable and I will repurchase them soon in case Essence decide to discontinue them, something that they do frequently.
I Heart Revolution Tasty Peach Highlighter
If you want a deep highlighter effect which looks natural at the same time, you need the I ♥ Revolution Tasty Peach Highlighter.
This is a highlighter with two different shades, one peach and one champagne tones. I like to apply a mix of both. It leaves a natural illumination on my cheeks. The unique problem I found with this product is that the pack is huge and, therefore, not easy to store. It comes with so many products that you will have a highlighter to use during your two lifes.
The smell is amazing. It has a deep peach smell which, even after two years of using the product, is still present and deep.
Essence Long Lasting Eyeliners favourite makeup
If I talk about my favourite products, I must mention the Essence Long Lasting Eyeliners. They are the best-performing retractable eye pencil I have in my collection. I’ve been using these pencils almost every day, mainly the shades Black Fever, Hot Chocolate and Lucky Lead.
The main reason why I love them is that they are really long-lasting, as the brand claims. You apply the product and it will stay without smudging or fading until you remove it with the cleansing balm.
They are really waterproof. You can get under the rain, swim in the swimming pool or even cry but the pencil will not move.
They are available in a variety of colours and they are easy to apply and blend. The negative point I found is that they should come with a sharpener. The tip becomes round with the uses and you need to take a sharpener from another pen to shape it again. They are hyper-affordable and cost only £1.89 for each pen.
L’Oreal Air Volume Mascara favourite makeup
I have this mascara in the normal and waterproof version. However, I still did not use the waterproof and I don’t know if it is as good as the normal version.
This L’oreal Air Volume mascara leaves my lashes longer, separated and with volume. Despite I am using the normal version, the mascara stays in place most of the day with a few fallouts990.
It comes with a bristle spoolie, quite big, but which allows an easy application. It has a strange smell, which is lovely. The smell is like honey to me, and I don’t know why as it does not include honey in the formula.
There are other versions of this mascara, like the waterproof (which I already have) and the 30 H mascara. I don’t see the point of the 30 H, who is going to be on makeup for 30 H?
These are the five products I used more during this year. Shortly I will write about my favourite eyeshadow palettes for this year and I already posted my favourite skincare products.
Let me know which products have been your favourite this year in the comments and if you like any of the products I mentioned.
