Shein’s newly launched licensed collection with The Rolling Stones is set to have its contract terminated as the band seek to pull out following allegations of the retailer’s working practices.
The Rolling Stones have demanded their merchandising team terminate a contract with the online fast fashion retailer after it was embroiled in allegations of labour abuse.
An investigation by Channel 4 into Shein’s working conditions saw an undercover journalist named “Mei” visit factories to reveal the appalling hours and wages of workers.

Shein revealed the licensed collection “honouring the legendary rock band” on Friday.
The range includes a T-shirt featuring a dinosaur print to celebrate the group’s 60th anniversary, priced at £4.49, as well as a £1.50 mobile phone case and a £5 cap, all with the Rolling Stones tongue-and-lips logo.
The “Shein x Rolling Stones” deal was signed by Bravado International Group Merchandising Services.
Bravado is owned by Universal Music Group, which bought worldwide rights to the Stones brand, as well as their back catalogue of recorded music and video, in 2018.
Within hours of being challenged on Monday morning about the ethics of the new range in light of concerns over labour conditions, the band called for the deal to end.
The items went on sale last week – less than two months after an undercover investigation revealed that garment manufacturers in two of Shein’s Chinese factories were working up to 18 hours a day, being paid as little as 3p per item, with no weekends and only one day off per month.
The findings from Channel 4’s documentary Untold: Inside the Shein Machine prompted widespread outrage and concern.
Shein responded to the controversial documentary, saying it is “extremely concerned” by the claims presented in the programme.
